Full name: John Waran Campbell, known as "Jack".
Educated at Keith Grammar School. He was a keen sportsman particularly in Association Football, being a playing nember of Aberdeen Football Club. He completed the course for the Planters' Certificate of the North of Scotland College of Agriculture before volunteering for service in the
R.A.F. in October, 1939. He trained as a Pilot in
Southern Rhodesia. 0n his return to this country he took part in many operatíons with Coastal Command.
In December, 1942, he was posted to the Far Eastern theatre and was based on Ceylon. On 24th August, 1943, he was reported missing during operations over the Andaman Islands and was presumed to have been killed at that time.
