MR DAVID HALLIDAY, the Aberdeen F.C. manager, today signed 18-year-old Robert Wishart, outside left of Merchiston Thistle, the Edinburgh juvenile club.
Wishart, who is 5ft. 8in. in height and well built, played a trial for the Pittodrie reserves at Brechin last night and put up a good display.
He had previously played trials for English clubs and had been offered good terms, but preferred to remain in Scotland.
Wishart, who was at Pittodrie to-day, will take up residence in Aberdeen.
It will be recalled that the Dons already have an interest in Newlands, an outside right from Merchiston Thistle, who is in the R.A.F. at Kinloss.

Bob developed in to an inside forward who was a vital part of the Dons 1955 side. Wishart linked up well with Yorston and Buckley as the Dons found a potent blend in the 50's. Capped at U-23 and League level, Wishart moved to Dundee in 1961, where he won a championship medal in 1962.
Bob spent his retirement in Edinburgh where he passed away on the 3rd of December 2020.
