Profile:
George joined the Dons in 1936 from Benburb along with Frank Dunlop. In his twelve seasons at Pittodrie the big keeper played in the Dons Cup Finals either side of the war, and also picked up a winners medal in the 1946 Southern League Cup Final. Infact, he was slightly fortunate to get the medal because he had asked for a free transfer in Match 1946 but nothing came of it and he regained his place in the team in time for that famous success.
At the outbreak of war George went to work as a Baker and consequently was able to continue turning out for Dons' matches.
One of the Dons great keepers, who was unfortunate not to gain international recognition, he was renowned for his stylish kicking of the ball. Moved to Dunfermline in 1949 before joining Raith Rovers where he remaind until 1955. His last Club was Nairn Thistle.

Died in 1974.
