Profile: |
A versatile left sided player who captained East End before signing for Aberdeen. Enjoyed successes in the reserve team but did not quite fill the bill for first team football, possibly because he was tried in several positions.
In later years George was President of the Aberdeen District Football League between 1919 and 1923 before emigrating with his family to a new life in Australia in 1925. It is believed that he worked at the Cockatoo Island Shipyard in Sydney at some stage and died in that City in about 1957/58.
Thanks to Duncan Macfarlan who supplied the biographical information about George in the sumer of 2012.
