Henry's brothers were John, the eldest, who played at centre half for Orion, and Wilf who arrived at Pittodrie at the start of the 1904/05 season. Just before the end of the 1906-1907season, Henry was expected to re-sign for Aberdeen, but on 6th May 1907 the Aberdeen Daily Journal reported that he had signed for Sunderland for an undisclosed but substantial fee. Later estimated at £400 - a huge sum at that time.
Death of a Prominent Player - Regret was expressed in football circles in Aberdeen yesterday when it became known that Henry Low, the well-known Anglo-Scot football player, and former member of the Aberdeen team, had died on Sunday at his home near Sunderland. Low, who was a native of Fraserburgh, succumbed to pneumonia, following a brief illness. He was about 38 years of age.
