Profile:
Purdie was a very promising, goalscoring winger, but in early 1974 he requested a transfer and was put on the transfer list by manager Jimmy Bonthrone. Before he left he turned down a move that would have taken former Don Dave Smith back to Pittodrie from Rangers. Later emigrated to play in Australia.
