Profile:
Irishman Moore joined the Dons (at the second attempt) from Shamrock Rovers in 1932,as a direct replacement for Benny Yorston. Capped as an Irish internationalist, Moore was a prolific scorer for the Dons, and also for his country when he scored four goals in one match for his Ireland. Rejoined Shamrock in 1935, as the Armstrong-Mills partnership was blossoming at Pittodrie. Equalled the club record for scoring six goals in one game for the Dons when he netted a double hat trick against Falkirk in 1932.

MOORE RETURNS TO ABERDEEN.

Reporting at Pittodrie This Forenoon.

MAY PLAY IN RESERVE TEAM TO-MORROW.

"Paddy" Moore, Aberdeen's Irish international centre-forward, who has been absent from Pittodrie since December 15, returned to Aberdeen last night from Ireland. He will report to Pittodrie this forenoon. and will in all probability turn out for the reserve team against Hearts A to-morrow.
It will be recalled that Moore journeyed to Dublin to play for the Irish Free State against Hungary on December 16, and his failure to report back to Pittodrie created a sensation in football circles. All sorts of rumours were rife, prominent among them being one that Moore would not return to Aberdeen.
A "Press and Journal" representative, who learned that Moore had crossed from Dublin on Wednesday, quickly spotted the Irishman as he descended from the 6.40 from Glasgow last night. Moore was bareheaded and carried his football boots in a small attache case.
In an interview the player stated that his long absence from Pittodrie was due to a misunderstanding between himself and the club.

Treatment For Injury.

"I was injured in the Irish Free State-Hungary match, and wired Aberdeen to the effect that I would remain in Dublin until after Christmas in order to have the injury treated," he said.
"I received a wire from the club stating I must return immediately. I was unable do so, and thought I was suspended.
"Last week I received a communication from Pittodrie asking for an explanation and this I at once forwarded. Another letter from the club asked me to report at Pittodrie, and here I am."
Moore said he had lost a stone in weight. He added that though he had not been in training he felt fit.

Although Paddy dropped out of the first team picture at the end of the 1934-35 season, he remained on the Pittodrie books until 1939 when he was put on the open to transfer list in May. Died: Dublin, 24th July 1951
