Although Dons' fan Dean made his debut for Aberdeen in May 2017 against Celtic, in so doing he became the youngest ever Dons' first team player. His first headline grabbing appearance came when he scored the winning goal against Livingston in December 2018. It was his first senior goal and an invaluable one for the team.
Dean signed a three and a half year extension to his contract on 12th December 2019, with the manager challenging him to establish himself as a first team regular. On 3rd February 2022 it was announced that Dean was joing former manager Derek McInnes at Kilmarnock as a loanee for the remainder of the season.
On 15th June 2022 the Dons announced that Dean was again going out on loan for the new season, this time to Stevenage FC.
