Started his career as a youth player at Dundee and went on to play for Partick Thistle, Raith
Rovers (on loan) and Dunfermline Athletic before moving to Aberdeen in 2005. He took
over from Ryan Esson as first choice during 2006-07 and signed a three-year extension in
December 2007 to keep him at the club until 2011. Has made 1 Scotland B appearance, and
has been called up to the full Scotland squad as the third choice goalkeeper under Walter
Smith, Alex McLeish and George Burley respectively. The Paisley-born keeper figured in
every SPL games last term, keeping 14 shut-outs along the way and was voted by the fans to
be the 2008/09 AFC Player of the Year.
In 2015-16 Jamie was awarded a Testimonial season for the Dons, including a Testimonial match against Brighton at Pittodrie. Aberdeen beat the Seagulls 1-0 on the day. Jamie had his contract terminated early by mutual consent on the 11th August as he looks to prolong his goalkeeping career tied in with coaching.
