Profile: |
Michael is another product of the AFC Youth Academy. Paton, a striker, joined Scottish
Second Division club Brechin City on loan in January 2008 until the end of the season.
He rejoined the Glebe Park side for another loan spell in September 2008. He made his
Aberdeen debut in December 2008, coming on as a substitute in a 3-0 victory over Inverness
Caledonian Thistle. He scored his first senior goal for the club in a 2-1 loss to Rangers at Ibrox
in May 2009. Michael has had to wait patiently for his opportunity in the first team but he
certainly took it in 2009/10. He was a strong player with pace and looked a real talent.
Because of changes in the forward line, Michael was finding it difficult to break back into the first team so went out on load to Stockport County in 2011 for six months during which he played 10 first team matches and scored 4 goals.
Michael was released from his contract on 31 Aug 2012 after failing to break into the first team and joined Queen of the South a few months later.
