The Aberdeen 7 - 4 Linthouse
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Chanonry, Aberdeen
A friendly match between these clubs was played at Chanonry. Linthouse had wind and sun in their favour, but Aberdeen were first to score. They continued to press for a time, but the strangers seemed to improve us the game went on, and they gradually assumed the upper hand. Before half time they had four goals standing at their credit, while the ground players had only been able to increase their score to two. On resuming, however, Aberdeen played with rare dash, and cheered on by their enthusiastic supporters they went into the game with a will. The forwards, in particular, distinguished themselves, and played as they have seldom played before. Goal after goal was added, while Linthouse failed to score. Result: Aberdeen 7, Linthouse 4.
