Although the Rangers won their match with Aberdeen at Ibrox Park, Glasgow, by only 1 goal to nothing, they were much the better team. For practically the whole of the first half the winners pressed, and the goal scored by Gordon was a brilliant effort. In the second half play was more even, but the Rangers continued to enjoy the greater number of scoring chances, and that they did not add to their total is a tribute to the Aberdeen defence, in which Anderson, in goal, was exceptionally clever. There were twelve thousand spectators.

Aberdeen, with a little more energy on the part of the inside forwards, might have given Rangers a bigger fright than they got. The Ibrox men were strongly represented, while Aberdeen were without Colman, Brewster and Wyllie, and had Mackie, Thomson, and Robertson as their halves. Anderson played well in goal for them, Calder and Moir were strong at back, and Ambler and Wyllie the pick of the forwards. Main was at centre for Aberdeen, and Gordon for Rangers. The latter scored the only goal of the match after 15 minutes play.
