This match was played at Chanonry. Turner scored for the home side soon after the start, but Montrose quickly got on equal terms. Russell was the means of again putting Aberdeen one goal ahead, a position which they maintained till half-time. Montrose started the second period well, but they were unable to maintain the effort, and Turner again scored for the homesters. A goal to Montrose renewed the excitement, and it was not until Turner had added a fourth point that victory for Aberdeen became secure. No further scoring took place, and the game thus ended: Aberdeen 4, Montrose 2.
