Aberdeen made a good fight at Falkirk, their forwards, led by Ambler, giving the Bairns plenty of work all afternoon. Stewart, the Falkirk goalkeeper, was in good form. After Aberdeen had pressed, Shearer scored for the home side. Main at once equalised, but Falkirk got the lead through a penalty, and before the interval McCulloch increased it. Ambler netted for Aberdeen, and Shearer, who, with Jockey Simpson, was the outstanding man in the Falkirk attack, closed the scoring.
