The Aberdeen 2 - 2 Victoria United
Kick Off:  2:30 PM   Turner, Turner       Forsyth, Forsyth
Attendance: 0
Venue: Chanonry, Aberdeen
Owing to the bad condition of the field at Chanonry on Saturday, the semi-final tie in the Aberdeenshire Cup competition was postponed, and a friendly game was played instead by the two teams which were to have been engaged - Aberdeen and Victoria United. The teams were: Aberdeen - Smyth; John Davidson, Gall; Murray, Joe Davidson, Thomson; Turner, Taylor, C. W. Mackie, Gray, J. Mackie. Victoria - Inch; Anderson, J. Ririe; Morrice, W. Ririe, Annand; Murison, Macfarlane, Caie, Forsyth, Clark.

Aberdeen won the toss, and Victoria United kicked off. Immediately on play commencing the treacherous nature of the ground became apparent. The players had the greatest difficulty in keeping on their feet. The game was not old when Caie passed the leather to Forsyth, who with a sharp shot beat Smyth. Some fairly good play followed, and, after some hard work, Aberdeen had the satisfaction, of equalising the scores. The ground team's right forward had the credit of registering the point. Capturing the ball from a corner kick, the Blues then made their way to Smyth's charge. The "spurt" came to nothing, but in course of time the United were once more crowding round the citadel of their rivals. Shots were repeatedly sent in, but Smyth was equal to all the demands made upon him. It was only by a combined effort on the part of the Aberdeen halves that a transference of the play to neutral territory could be effected. As a result of some clever tactics, Aberdeen, nearly scored. At half-time the figures were 1-1.

Resuming, the blues attacked, and after a few exchanges in front of goal Forsyth had the satisfaction of beating the Aberdeen custodian for a second time. The ground was in better condition now, but the play did not improve much. The whites strained every nerve to equalise, but Ririe and Anderson were not to be beaten. Mackie had a splendid run along the touch-line, and after giving the right-about to Anderson crossed to Turner. This player dodged Ririe and Annand, and with a brilliant shot put on the equalising point. The game was more evenly contested towards the close, and no other goals were scored. The result was the same as on the two previous occasions when the teams met - two goals each.
