A Good Win at Torry. |
 |
In a friendly fixture these teams met at Victoria Bridge grounds before a fair turnout of spectators. The weather was favourable. Teams: Victoria United - Gillspie; Thomson, Ririe; Morrice, Gordon, Annand; Macconnachie, Forsyth, Caie, Burnett, Ritchie. Our Boys - Honeyman; Birmingham, Sim; Macdonald, Morren, Rollox; Neilson, McIntyre, Butchart, Duff, Jeffrey. Referee, Mr Charles Dorian, Aberdeen. All through the game the Victoria United manifested their superiority. They threw away several easy chances of scoring by erratic shooting, but they won easily by 6 to 0.

Our Blairgowrie friends came down with a rattle over the water, the Blues registertng a fine win by 6 goals to nil It was, indeed, a run away victory for the Victoria United, who are improving on every outing. The inclusion of young Maconnachie has had a wonderful effect upon the team, his brilliant play apparently emulated the others to follow his example. Perhaps the defence is their strong point, however, the forwards on occasion being very loose in front of goal, a fault very conspicuous in their actions on Saturday. With this remedied, aid the halves polished up to concert pitch, the Charity Cup holders will spank along with the best of them.
