The Blues Again Victorious.
The Aberdeen met the Victoria United at Chanonry to play off their tie in the Gershon Cup competition. There was a large concourse of spectators. The game in the first half was a very close one, 2 goals being scored on each side. In the second half, however, the Vics came away in grand style, and in spite of the efforts of their opponents, who never scored again, they carried everything before them. The result was as follows: Victoria United 6, Aberdeen 2.

The Victoria United added another splendid win to their list of successes by defeating the Aberdeen very decisively in a "Gershon" Cup tie by 6 goals to 2. The Whites offered a stubborn resistance in the opening 45, but on turning over they crumbled to pieces before the irresistible Blues, who were simply head and shoulders above them. Gillespie's position in goal was a sinecure, the backs and halves keeping the Aberdeen forwards well in hand. Maconnachie and Forsyth played a capital game on the right, the little outside tricking his opponent again and again to the delight of the spectators. The latter might have enhanced his play had he utilised Caie a little more, and sacrificed his personality for the good of the club. Caie, as we have indicated, was shockingly neglected by the right wing, but in combination with the left did excellent service, their work, if not so showy as the right pair, being almost as meritorious. Considering Smyth had been out of harness for a few weeks, he defended fairly, left as he was in great measure to his own resources. The backs were terribly weak in tackling, and the halves failed to cope with the dashing attacks opposed to them with any degree of success, while the forwards were rugged In the extreme, Toman alone doing anything like well.
