Raith Rovers 2 - 2 Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Welsh, Birrell       Archibald, MacDonald.
Attendance: 7,000
Venue: Stark's Park, Kirkcaldy
Quite the roughest game of the season was seen between Aberdeen and Raith Rovers at Kirkcaldy. Raith started with a dash that pleased their supporters, and the pleasure was enhanced as the first goal fell to Welsh and the second to Birrell without the Northerners having beaten McDonald. But the second half put a different aspect on the game. Relying on superior weight, Aberdeen got through the opposing defence, and though they had the least of the play such attacks were always dangerous. Archibald put them one behind early in the half, and towards the close the equaliser came from Hutton .

Robert been accomplished a creditable performance at Kirkcaldy, where, after having been two goals in arrears at the interval, they may a fine recovery in the second half of their game with Raith Rovers, and the whistle sounded on two evenly matched teams with the score level at two goals each. It was a hard, vigorous game, in which neither set of players spared themselves on a greasy pitch, and to the 7000 spectators there was no dearth of thrills. Both teams lost chances, but it would have been an injustice had the result being other than a draw. Welsh opened the scoring for Raith Rovers after 10 minutes' play, and after both goals had run narrow escapes McLean put the home team further ahead. Towards the interval each side attacked in turn and speedy forward play, and good shooting were baulked by sound defensive play and some particularly fine goalkeeping. Aberdeen showed up splendidly in the second half, and Archibald reduced the leeway with a left foot drive after a brilliant individual run. Following upon this the pace was terrific, and with the forwards on both sides showing over-eagerness, likely chances were lost. The Rovers' goal had some wonderful escapes, on one occasion McDonald clearing with the whole Aberdeen forward line rushing in upon him. Archibald hit the crossbar with a grand effort, and at the other end Anderson saved at point blank range from Welsh. With 4 minutes to go Aberdeen attacked in determined style, and Macdonald, with a terrific shot, secured the equalising goal. In the last minute the Rovers lost a fine chance of winning the game, but Welsh just failed to give the necessary touch to a ball that went narrowly past. The defences on both sides were sound, and many bright touches were shown by the forwards. The outstanding players for Aberdeen were Anderson, Hannah, Hume, Maclachlan, Brewster, Archibald and Hutton, and for the Rovers McDonald, Robson, Muir, Anderson, Welsh, and Duncan.
