The Victoria met the Dumbarton at Torry yesterday before a large crowd of spectators. The teams were: Victoria United - Gillespie; Anderson, Grant; Morrice, Smith, Annand; Forsyth, Maconnachie, Caie, Burnett, Ritchie. Dumbarton - Docherty; Thomson, McNicol; Bowman, Hendry, Norman; Walker, Malloy, McEvely, Wier, McIntosh.
Shortly after the commencement Ritchie, amid loud cheering, notched the first point of the game from a fine pass off Burnett's head. Smith from well out caught the ball and scored the second goal with a beauty. The visitors' goalkeeper was beat for the third time by Maconnachie. It was evident that they were far outmatched by their more versatile opponents. The first half ended 4-0 in favour of the Blues. During the second portion of the game the home team registered a similar number of goals, while the Dumbarton failed to notch a point, and the game thus resulted Victoria United, 8 goals; Dumbarton, 0. Mr A. Dorian was referee.
