The Aberdeen 7 - 0 Peterhead
Kick Off:
Attendance: 0
Venue: Victoria Bridge, Aberdeen
The first round of these ties was played at Victoria Bridge Grounds between the Aberdeen and Peterhead, in disagreeable weather, before a meagre attendance. During the first period the strangers threw away a number of opportunities of scoring, and ends were changed with the score in favour of Aberdeen by 5 goals to nil. In the second half the game was less unequal, and the final result was: Aberdeen- 7, Peterhead 0.

In awfully disagreeable weather the Aberdeen wiped out Peterhead from these ties by 8 goals to 1 at Victoria Bridge Grounds on Saturday. There was a good attendance, everything considered, and if the spectators were not treated to a brilliant scientific exhibition from either team, they at least were kept interested, the Peterhead lads fighting every inch of ground. It was not so one-sided a game as the figures would indicate by any manner of means, the strangers repeatedly getting down on Smith but erratic work in front of goal negatived their every attack. Toman was away from the city team, but he was not missed, C. W. Mackie playing with great dash in his place, while almost each of the others conducted themselves well. In the last two meetings between these clubs, the Whites have registered the big score of 14 goals to 1. After all, our friends from the capital of Buchan do not seem to improve - at least away from home, and it must have been gall indeed to them to go down in the charity without making a mark on the "scoring sheet."

Note: There is a disagreement in reports of the scoreline in this match. On the face of it it seems that Bon-Accord may be wrong as their reported score is not supported by their last sentence. The Dundee Courier is not helpful as it carries virtually the same text as the Aberdeen Journal.
