Lochee United 7 - 1 Orion
Kick Off:          Bruce
Attendance: 0
Venue: South Road Park, Dundee
No match report in Aberdeen Journal.

Played at South Road Park, Lochee, in dull weather. To meet the convenience of the Orion, the kick-off was postponed until four o'clock, but, to the disgust of the home Executive, as well as many of the spectators, the visitors were 45 minutes after that hour in putting in an appearance. The teams took the field as follows: Orion - McBean; Mitchell, Hughes; Wight, Low, Currie; Stopani. Leggat, Thom, Duncan, Bruce. Lochee United - Craig; Robertson, William Reid; Tom Reid, Fleming, Haxton; "Alexander," Moon, Keir, Vigrow, McIntosh. Referee, Mr Robert Officer. Dundee Wanderers.

Winning the toss, the United chose to play the first period with the incline in their favour. The first incursion was made by the visitors, but Thom when about to shoot was pounced upon by Robertson, who gave the leather to Fleming. In turn the latter passed to the left wing, and from that quarter a hard shot was sent in to McBean, which that young custodian safely negotiated. A minute later, however, the home left again obtained possession, and McIntosh found an opening with a good shot. A second goal resulted from a grand effort by Keir, while a third point was secured by Fleming, the ball going through off the head of an opponent. Half-time was called with the scores unaltered.

On resuming the Aberdonians at once put on the pressure, and ere many minutes a grand run by Stopani culminated in Bruce notching the first point for his side This was not at all relished by the home side, who once more assumed the aggressive. Admirable feeding by the half-backs gave the forwards every opportunity to score, and, after Alexander had had hard lines in not augmenting the home total, Vigrow sent in a scorcher which the goalkeeper was powerless to save. Lochee United had now the upper hand of their opponents to the close of the game. Keir, who was in grand form in the centre, distinguished himself by scoring three other goals for his side. Darkness having set in, the referee stopped play eight minutes before time, with the scores standing in favour of Lochee United by 7 goals to 1.
