The Victoria United journeyed to Inverness and engaged in a friendly fixture with the Thistle, The match took place at Kingsmills before a large gathering of spectators. In the opening stages of the first half the Thistle pressed, and in about twenty minutes from the start the first goal was scored by the Thistle. Shortly afterwards they added a second point. In the second period the United played better, and ultimately won by 3 goals to 2.
