Venue: Cattofield, Aberdeen
At Cattofield, Aberdeen, this the first home-and-home league fixture ended in favour of the Orion, who had seven goals against three obtained by their opponents. In the first period the strangers were completely outplayed, being five goals behind when ends were changed. Their play improved considerably in the second half, but the Orion had no difficulty in winning the match.

Played at Cattofield on Saturday. Teams: Athletic - Easton ; Janes, Scott; Cable, Anderson, Mann; Thomson. Black, McFarlane, Boath, Shepherd. Orion - McBean; James Low, Ross; Gordon, John Low, Currie; McLennan, McFarlane, Thom, Dawson, Duncan. Orion kicked off. Almost immediately Thom scored. After some hard play on both sides, the Orion took the Athletic ground in a rush, the result being that McFarlane scored a goal for the home team. Throughout the remainder of the first period of play Orion kept up the pressure, further goals being put in by Dawson, Currie, and Thom, the score standing at half-time: Orion, 5; Athletic, 0. On resuming Orion pressed, and afterwards succeeded in putting a sixth goal to their credit. Shepherd afterwards scored the first goal for the visitors, the Orion retaliating quickly thereafter. Before the close of the game, however, the Athletic succeeded in scoring two points. The game ended: Orion, 7 ; Forfar Athletic, 3.
