The Aberdeen 3 - 5 Victoria United
Kick Off:

A Hard Game at Chanonry.
The Victoria United brought their Northern League engagements to a close by a match with the Aberdeen at Chanonry; but the Aberdeen have to meet the Orion before they retire from the competition. The game proved of a helter-skelter order, and quite devoid of the finer qualities, and ended in a win for the United by 5 goals to 3.

Played at Aberdeen on Saturday before a good attendance. At half-time the scores stood - United, 1; Aberdeen, 0. On resuming United put on other four goals to the Aberdeen's two, ultimately running out winners by 5 goals to 3 .

The Vics finished their League fixtures for a season by playing the Whites at Chanonry on Saturday. Opening with what wind there was in their favour, the Whites made the Blues' defence play for all they were worth to keep their goal intact. Notwithstanding this, the Vies were the first to score, Burnett beating Smyth with a low shot. Only Findlay's really grand saving kept the home team from equalising. He was tried with all kinds of shots, but could not be beaten. Fairly even play continued until half time, which arrived with the Vics leading by a goal.

On resuming Vics pressed strongly for some time. J. Mackie, who was playing half, relieved and passing the ball on to Gray, that player equalising. The excitement was now intense. Gray got away again on the left, and shooting across the goal mouth, Thomson headed past Findlay. Vics again took the game in hand and Smyth missed a ridiculously easy save, and the score was again equal. Before time other three goals were put on by the Blues to one by the Aberdeen, and the game finished: Vics 5, Aberdeen 3.
In our opinion the run of play was about equal for a draw. Smyth should have easily saved two of the shots he let past. Both teams played very well.
