Played at St Margaret's Park, Lochee, before an encouraging turnout of spectators. The teams lined up as follows: Lochee United - Fergusson; Morris, Rattray; Robertson, Moon, McIntosh; A. Forrest, Reid, Ramsay, Tosh, M. Forrest. Orion - McBean; Low, Ross; Currie, J. Low, Dawson; A. McFarlane, M. McFarlane, Thom, Leggat, Hogg. Referee. Mr Smith, Arbroath. Lochee, winning the toss, essayed to play towards the south goal, and at once pressed for a considerable time. A spurt by the visitors took the ground lads by surprise, Thom capping a fine run by eluding Ferguson with an unsaveable shot. Fast play followed, good work being done by both teams, Ramsay was a dangerous opponent to the Orion, and after several ineffectual efforts he equalised with a neat header. This success stimulated the home team immensely, and ere many minutes Ramsay again scored for his side with a perfect beauty of a shot. Half-time arrived with Lochee leading by 2 goals to 1. On resuming, the Orion, with the incline in their favour, were at once round the home posts, and succeeded in equalising. For a lengthened period the game was of a very interesting nature, Orion doing most of the pressing, and Lochee defending with the utmost rigour. The superior weight of the Aberdeen team ultimately gained the day, the leading point being gained through the instrumentality of Leggat. Orion from a foul obtained a fourth point out of the scrimmage which ensued, a splendid game ending in favour of Orion by 4 goals to 2.

Orion committee left nothing to chance in their game at Dundee on Saturday. The full team journeyed south to meet Lochee, who have been showing greatly improved form for some time back. Playing up the incline, Hogg soon after the start put in a pretty run which ended in Thom beating the home custodian. Fast even play ensued, but Ramsay ultimately managed to set his team on equal terms by heading through from a foul. Lochee kept their opponents putting much on the defensive until half time, and managed to secure a second goal through Ramsay before the whistle blew.

A goal down and the hill in their favour, Orion re-started with rare dash. A minute after the kick-off the game was equalised from a scrimmage. The visitors still kept up the pressure, but about 30 minutes elapsed before the leading point was put on. Shortly before time, another goal was added to their total, and the game ended in an easy win for the Cattofield eleven as above stated. Rarely during the second period did Lochee manage to get over the centre line, and had their defence not played a good game, Orion must have scored oftener than they did. The visitors stood the pace very well, and Dundee Wanderers may come north prepared for an exceedingly hot ninety minutes.
