A Northern League fix turn was played between these clubs at Cattofield, before a large turnout of spectators. Previous to the commencement of the game the ceremony of unfurling the League flag, won by the Orion last year, was performed by Treasurer Bisset. Teams: Orion - McBean; Ross, Gordon; Currie, Low, Dawson, Webster, M. Macfarlane, Thom, Wilson, Hogg. Arbroath - Strachan; Clark, Penny; Mather, McGlashan, Davidson; Leuchars, Middleton, J, Clark, Milne, Ford. Mr J, Black, Forfar, referee. Ten minutes after the start Thom, with a splendid shot, scored the first goal for the Orion. Arbroath then pressed hard, but they soon had to return to defensive tactics. Then Webster scored another goal for the Orion, while a third was added by Wilson. Clark and Milne did some good work for the visitors, and before half-time the latter scored their first goal. On resuming, the Orion had the best of the game, and Macfarlane again distinguished himself by scoring a fourth goal. Thom soon afterwards added other two points; while Hogg, who had made an excellent appearance all through the game, a cored the best goal of the match with a cross kick. Before time, Thom again scored, the game thus ending: Orion, 8 ; Arbroath, 1.

Short Kicks.

A big win and the new flag unfurled by the most weighty individual in the Town Council all for threepence. Who says Orion don't give value for your money? Councillor Milne was not far away when the flag went up. He's a regular attender at all the games.
Many thanks, gentlemen, for the cover to the press box, but please do see that only persons entitled are admitted.
Webster quite came out of his shell. He's got a lot of play in him, and should come a bit yet.
The Great North have stumped up Orion's fare to Peterhead, when the toggery went off at Auchnagatt.
