The Aberdeen 2 - 1 Arbroath
Kick Off:    C. Mackie, Brown       Robertson (o.g.)
Attendance: 0
Venue: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
In unsettled weather, Aberdeen and Arbroath played a Northern League fixtue at Pittodrie on Saturday. There were not many chages in the respective elevens from last year, except for the inclusion of Axford in the visitors' team, and Brash in the Aberdeen eleven. The teams lined us as follows:- Aberdeen: Bisset; Reid, J. Mackie; Sangster, Thomson, Robertsom; Brash, Davidson, C. Mackie, H. Brown, Paterson. Arbroath: Barrett; Carry, Clark; Morrison, McGlashan, Ford; Black, Middleton, Axford, Willox, Dilly. Referee, Mr. T. Scott, Montrose.

Aberdeen were the first to press the attack, but although some of the Aberdeen forwatds played a spiritd game, they were unable to score, the Arbroath team playing a good defensive game. After some time, however, Davidson and Brash got on the ball, and passing to C. Mackie at the proper time, that player managed to score the first goal of the match. No more scoring took place in the first half, although Arbroath tried hard to equalise.

In the second period Arbroath started well, but Aberdeen again succeeded in scoring through Brown. Just before the conclusion of the game, Robertson, while trying to save his own goal, scored for Arbroath.
