Orion and Peterhead met on Saturday afternoon at Cattofield in the replay of the qualifying cup tie, which was drawn at Peterhead the previous Saturday. There was a large crowd of spectators. The teams were:- Orion: Ritchie; Ross, Brebner; Currie, Campbell, Esplin; Low, Burnett, Lindsay, Fitzpatrick, Prophet. Peterhead: Lawson; Keith, G. Smith; Macleod, Davidson, Ross; Shand, Hall, Imlah, Buchan, Grant. Referee - Mr. McLaughan, Glasgow.
The visitors started off with great dash, but they did not keep it up for any length of time. Orion had now a look in, but the Peterhead custodian saved splendidly. Once more the Stripes got into close quarters, and succeeded in opening the scoring.
The second half of the game was in the most part in favour of the Orion, and they scored other two goals. Just before time, however, Peterhead showed a wonderful improvement in their play, and managed to score their only goal.
