The postponed semi-final match for the Lord Provost Fleming charity shield, between the Orion and Victoria United teams, took place last night at Pittodrie Park, Aberdeen, before a large turnout of spectators. The teams were:- Victoria United: Murray, Kilgour, R. Craig; Bremner, A. Murray, R. Ritchie; Knowles, Duncan, McIntosh, Ferries, G. Ritchie. Orion: Ritchie; Willox, Brebner; Currie, Low, Campbell; Prophet, Geaters, Barron, Wilson, Laurie. Mr. James Nisbet, Cowdenbeath, was referee.

Orion won he toss, and the United kicked off towards the city. The United were first to get into close quarters, and Ritchie was called upon to clear a dangerous shot from the left wing. The United continued to have the best of the exchanges, but the Orion's defence proved strong. Towards the close of the first half, R. Ritchie presented the United forwards with a fine chance which they were not slow to take advantage f, Knowles opening the scoring with a hot shot close in. This was the means of wakening up the Stripes, who played with great dash.

On resuming, Wilson had a grand chance of equalising, but shot high over the cross-bar. Knowles had next a fine try from the right wing, just missing by inches. After a spell of end to end play, the Orion by good passing tactics, got into close quarters, and from a scrimmage, Laurie equalised. Once more on an equal footing, both teams strove hard for the lead. Again the United got down and forced a corner, and Duncan headed the ball into the net. A few minutes later, G. Ritchie was fouled within the line, and the referee awarded the United a penalty. Ritchie took the kick himself and easily scored. Towards the close, Murray, from a corner, notched a fourth point for the United. The concluding stages were contested in semi-darkness, and the United ran out easy winners.

The Victoria United now meet Peterhead in the final for the shield. During the match a collection was taken on behalf of the Ibrox Disaster Fund, and amounted to 4 1s.
