Practice Match at Pittodrie |
 |
Another practice game, witnessed by nearly 3000 spectators, took place at Pittodrie last night two teams captain by Tom Strang and "Gowie" Robertson. Teams were:-
Strang's XI: Mutch; Urquhart, Gault; Halkett, Strang, W. Low; Ford, Lawrie, McKinley, Haxton, Lennie.
Robertson's XI: Fordyce; J. Robertson, Brebner; Davidson, J. J. Simpson, Robertson; James Robertson, Brown, R. Simpson, Edgar, McKenzie (Stoneywood).
The first period of the game was well contested, and a feature of the play was the brilliant defence offered by Mutch, who received a number of hot shots to hold.
To to one crossing over the teams were level with a goal apiece, but in the second half Fordyce was beaten once again, and the game ended in favour of Strang's XI by 2 goals to 1.
The collection amounted to £12, and will be handed over to local charities.
