A practice match between the players of the Aberdeen football club took place at Pittodrie last night. The teams were as follows:-
Browns: Mutch; Hannah, Hume; Halkett, McIntosh, W. Low; Edgar, Towns, Dalgarno, Ritchie, Toman.
Stripes: King; McGunn, Innes; Davidson, Booth, William Low; Blackburn, Simpson, McNair, O'Hagan, Roberts.
The commencement was somewhat quiet. O'Hagan soon set the pace, and at once made inroads on Mutch's charge. Hume changed the venue, and Dalgarno distributed finely. O'Hagan was the star performer, and easily had the measures of Aberdeen's half back trio. He kept perfect control of the ball, and the manner in which he got round of the half-backs was brilliant. The crowd gave him every encouragement. A fine cross by Roberts gave O'Hagan a chance from 30 yards out, and he took advantage of the opportunity, beating Mutch with a beautiful cross shot.
After crossing over, play was easier. Simpson's seemed too fast for his partner, who, nevertheless, was playing well. Mcnair, too, seemed on the slow side, but did not seem to be exerting himself. Aberdeen's juniors were showing up well, and Roberts is apparently to be a success. Both custodians were in good form, saving ticklish shots. No further scoring took place, and the game resulted in a win for the stripes by one goal to nil.
