A crowd of about 7000 assembled to witness a second practice match in connection with the Aberdeen football club at Pittodrie last night. The teams, under Mr. Arthur watt, Aberdeen, took the field as follows:-
Stripes: King; Macfarlane, Newman; Halkett, McIntosh, W Low; Edgar, R. Simpson, McNair, O'Hagan, Roberts.
Whites: Mutch; Hannah, Hume; Davidson, J. J. Simpson, Low; W. Hay, Towns, Dalgarno, Ritchie, Toman.
The Whites had the best of the opening exchanges, Hannah and Hume keeping the opposing forwards well in hand. The Whites bore down on King, and Towns was presented with a splendid opportunity by Roberts, of which he took advantage, beating King with a splendid shot. Quiet play followed, until Hannah handled within the penalty area. Simpson took the resultant kick, and made the scores level.
The opening of the second half so a grand display of goal-keeping by Mutch. He dealt with shots from all directions, and for a time was literally bombarded with shots, all of which he disposed of in a masterly manner. McNair and O'Hagan were indulging in a deal of fancy footwork. The former's dribbling and passing was excellent, and created a very favorable impression. No further scoring took place, and the result was a draw, both teams having scored one goal.
A full dress rehearsal in which all the first team players will take part, is to take place at Pittodrie tomorrow evening.
