Dons' Left-Half and Referee Collapse

Replay At Kirkcaldy

THE Dons have to return to Kirkcaldy on Saturday to replay the first game in the home-and-home final of the North- Eastern League Cup.

Saturday's match at Stark's Park was abandoned three minutes after the resumption. Raith Rovers were attacking on the right George Taylor, the Aberdeen left half, collapsed. While he was being carried to the pavilion the referee, Mr J. Godfrey, Stenhousemuir held a consultation with Dunlop Low the captains of the rival teams, and it was decided stop play.
When Mr Godfrey reached his dressingroom he also collapsed, and was later taken to Kirkcaldv Hospital in an unconscious condition. He did not regain consciousness until yesterday.
Taylor recovered after receiving attention from Trainer Carroll.
The crowd demonstrated against the decision to abandon the match, and a deputation had an interview with the manager of the Raith Rovers club.
Ultimately Mr John McArthur, president the North-Eastern League, intimated that after meeting with the representatives of the two clubs it had been decided to hold a replay at Kirkcaldy this coming Saturday and the return game at Aberdeen will take place on May 29.
Up to the time of the postponement the Dons never looked like losing. They played the better football, and their superiority can be judged from the fact that Moody, the Rovers goalkeeper, had considerably more work to do than Johnstone in the Aberdeen goal. There was no scoring when play was stopped.
Cooper was absent from the Aberdeen team, for whom Deakin, St Mirren, played at outside left. The Roers had the assistance of Cook (Everton). Aird (Morton), and Payne (Chelsea).
