Inverness Caledonian 1 - 1 Aberdeen
Kick Off:    Whitton       Connon.
Attendance: 0
Venue: Telford Street Park, Inverness
Great interest was manifested in the visit of Aberdeen to Telford Street Park, Inverness., last night, when they played Caledonian in a friendly game. A large crowd was present. The visitors were strongly represented. At the outset Aberdeen took up the attack, and generally their outfield play was methodical. There was a thorough understanding between their half-backs and forwards, but at goalmouth their finishing left something be desired. Glass for Caledonian was often prominent, and gave every opportunity to his forwards, who, however, did not avail themselves of numerous opportunities. The play of the visitors was in striking contrast to that of the home team. In gathering and fielding the ball they were adepts, but their close-quarter play did not prove effective. With the exception of notable shots from Archibald and Wright, the Caledonian goalkeeper was never severely tested. Neither team succeeded in scoring, and they crossed over on level terms.

In the second period Aberdeen improved, but their one great fault of weak shooting often detracted from their splendid work in the outfield. Caledonian defended splendidly, and Whitton had several good tries, which were not of the kind to beat Anderson. In the closing stages Connon headed past McVinish. Directly the ball was centred, Whitton got possession, and, travelling at a great speed, beat Anderson with a splendid shot, thus equalising the scores. Shortly after time was called.
