Leonard Kupfer, a German correspondent, sends the following description of Aberdeen F.C.'s match with Bolton Wanderers at Leipzig:?

Leipzig, May 18.
Germany's football players enjoyed to-day the fine spectacle of a game between two British teams - Aberdeen F.C. v. Bolton Wanderers. The play ended 3-1 for Bolton. We saw a classic performance, with all the finesse to be expected of the pioneers of this noble sport.
In the first half both sides did not show all their energy, especially the Bolton forwards. Aberdeen played a very fresh game, much better than last time in Leipzig, and better, too, than in Magdeburg. But their shots at goal were not clear and certain.
In the second half the Wanderers pushed vigorously forward, and play was transferred into the Aberdeen territory. A regular textbook goal was gained by the Wanderers in an offensive, classical in its simplicity. A corner gave a fine opportunity to score another goal for Bolton by J. Smith. Now Aberdeen missed an opportunity to come up again. A corner was splendidly taken, but crashed against the post. The third goal for the Wanderers was shot again by J. Smith.
The general impression for the German onlookers was again very deep. Some players of the Aberdeen team were entirely equal to their opponents, especially the forwards and the backs, but the Wanderers proved to be the superior team. Rather amusing were the efforts of the German referee. One could see he had never had to follow such quick and vigorous play. He was more played out than the two teams.
