Aberdeen Held To Draw

Defence Defy Atttack of Visitors

Cowie a Stalwart for Academy

Aberdeen were lucky to draw at Wick last night. The Academy team kept them at full stretch all the time, playing as good football as the professionals.

The home team was particularly strong in defence, Cowie, the player-coach, playing a magnificent game, and had they had stronger finishing forwards they might have beaten their more experienced opponents.
Academy were the first to count, Ferguson scoring a good goal. Wick was unlucky not to have scored again by half time, Chisholm missing two easy chances.

Change in Vain

Aberdeen changed their formation in a vain attempt to get the mastery of the game. In the second half Aberdeen set off in strong style, and after three minutes' pressing Benyon snatched a chance and slipped through an easy goal. Try as they would after that, Aberdeen could make no further headway.
