ABERDEEN GO NAP. Yorston Three Goals and Love Two. PARTICK THISTLE S WEAKNESS
Aberdeen had the better of matters all through the game. In the first half they secured three goals, and after the interval they added two more, while Partick Thistle failed to count. Yorston had three of Aberdeen's five goals and though Partick Thistle strove hard they were unable to penetrate the home defence.

Twelve spectators saw Aberdeen defeat Partick Thistle by five goals to nil at Pittodrie on Saturday. Aberdeen fully merited their victory but were somewhat flattered by a five goal margin. The Pittodrie attack was in rampant form and snapped up all opportunities that came their way. Partick Thistle were equally smart in outfield but were amazingly weak in the goal mouth. It was a case of chances accepted and refused.
The feature of the game was the fact that Aberdeen's five goals were derived between two players - three for Yorston who completed his hat trick in as many minutes, and two for Love.
During the latter part of the second period the Aberdeen attack made a great effort to assist Love in the completion of his hat trick, but it was not to be. Of the Aberdeen defence Yuill, Livingstone, McLaren, and Hill were best, while in a nippy attack Yorston, Love, and McDermid were most prominent. Partick Thistle were best served by 0?Hare, Elliot, Ness, and Fraser.

How the Game Went.

After a raid by Partick in which Fraser shot past, play was taken to the other end where Yorston missed narrowly. The first thrill came when Yuill ran out and only partially saved a shot by Gibson, but the keeper recovered before the centre-forward. In a combined run by the Aberdeen attack, Jackson saved on the post from Yorston, and a minute later Smith shot over from a corner. During a spell of pressure by the Thistle, Yuill dealt with efforts from Ness and Torbet, and shortly afterwards Jackson, the Aberdeen defender, deflected a cross from Ness against the post for a useless corner.

Quick Scoring.

Subsequent play favoured the home team, and the Partick goal had several narrow escapes, efforts by Love, McDermid, Yorston, and Cheyne all being within an ace of counting.
Half an hour had gone before goals came, but when they did come they came with a rush. An unsuccessful clearance by O?Hare left Yorston in possession, and the dapper little ccntre forward made no mistake. Within two minutes the Aberdeen centre forward had followed up a lob by Black to add a second, and immediately after the restart he had smashed a cross by Smith into the net to complete his hat trick.
Partick rallied desperately, and two shots by Torbet met with an unkind fate, one striking the post and Yuill saving the other. Until the interval Thistle held the advantage, but failed to reduce the leeway.

Love on the Mark.

With two minutes of the second half gone, Aberdeen increased their lead through Love. Following this Partick attacked in vigorous fashion, and it was only at the second attempt that Yuill saved from Gibson.
Smart work by the home team took play to the other end, where Love netted with an angular shot off a pass from Yorston. The home team maintained the offensive, and after Jackson had tipped a shot by Black over the bar Love missed by inches.
The next incident of note was a full-length save by Jackson from a shot by Love, and then the custodian held a snap shot by Yorston. Love's team mates kept plying him with the bail in order that he should complete his hat trick, and twice in quick succession Jackson was called on to save terrific shots by the winger. The final whistle went with play hovering round the Thistle goal.
