Those who saw the Dons win so convincingly against Partick 'Thistle last Saturday could have had little idea of the headache Mr. Halliday had before he got the sides on to the field. The manager arranged to clear some of the snow from the pitch on Friday. At five o'clock things had worked out according to schedule and two hours' work on the following day should have been sufficient to have the ground in playing condition. When the workmen arrived on Saturday morning, however, they found that a further three inches of snow had fallen overnight and it became a race against time. The men worked with a will and by 2.30 p.m. the pitch was ready for the game. At first the players found the footing a bit treacherous but later the conditions improved and spectators were treated to a most interesting display.
