There's Nothing Like It!
For the real football enthusiast, any type of football is enjoyable as long as the standard is really good but there's a something about the "sudden death" game that whacks all others, leagues, league cups, exhibition games - aye, even internationals! When the Dons trotted on to the field at Dens, there was a full-throated roar from their followers that would have raised your blood pressure right away - and the whole ninety minutes were like that. Mind you there were times when you felt like biting off your fingers (far less your finger nails!), for Dundee had some terrific rallies and our goal seemed to bear a charmed life. But our lads refused to give in and in the end, the Dons were clear winners. Our third goal looked so simple but if ihe Dundee populace think that their defence was at fault, they are entirely wrong. That goal was the result of brilliant play by the Dons that had their opponents utterly lost and their defence split wide open. Both sides are to be congratulated on a fast clean sporting display that thrilled the crowd.

Nae Luck!

After the Dons' grand result at Dundee, their followers looked forward to a nice draw at Pittodrie in the next round. Alas, their hopes were dashed once more. Fate decreed that Aberdeen should fight again on foreign soil and the Dons know that a stern battle is in front of them at Motherwell, if they tackle the game with the same determination they showed at Den's Park, there is no doubt about the result!
