Hearts Win after Late Swing |
 |
Aberdeen slumped to another defeat, after an impressive late comeback from Hearts.
Aberdeen started well and showed early attacking promise through Eion Jess and
Arild Stavrum. ARILD STAVRUM grabbed his 11th goal of the season in the 13th minute to make
it 1-0 to the Dons. The first half produced little or no chances of any merit. Hearts had the bulk of possesion, but they failed to break down the Dons defence.
Arild Stavrum came close to making it 2-0, but his low shot went just wide. Gary Wales of Hearts found himself with one second half chance, but veteran Jim Leighton was equal to the task. Aberdeen brought on Hicham Zerouali in a bid to seal the points, he replaced Andy Dow in the 64th minute. Hearts second half pressure finally paid off when Gary Wales grabbed a goal with just ten minutes remaining to give his side hope of keeping up their European place challange. Moments later, the game was completely turned on it's head when ex-Celtic, Hibs and Dundee United striker Darren Jackson scored a stunning goal, worthy of winning any match. His long range effort flew in past Jim Leighton to make it 2-1 to Hearts.
Dons scorer Arild Stavrum came close to an equaliser in the closing minutes,
but his header went just wide.
