The Dons could have no complaints about the outcome of this one as Hearts thoroughly deserved their victory, a result which worryingly leaves Aberdeen tenth in the SPL and without a goal for more than four hundred minutes of football.

Hearts started well, and in the ninth minute Juanjo came close to opening the scoring with the first shot on target. Five minutes later the home side came close again, this time it took Ryan Esson's palm to save the Dons, the ball hitting the bar in the process.

Hearts pressure continued, and in the 19th minute Colin Cameron hit the ball over the bar with a long range drive. Just five minutes later, CAMERON made up for his earlier effort, capitalising on a Dons defensive error between Jamie McAllister and Darren Young, to make it 1-0 to the Jambos, his well placed shot giving Esson no chance.

In the 31st minute, the impressive Andy Kirk came close, hitting an effort off the post.

The Dons first real chance came in the 34th minute when youngster Chris Clark hit a long range effort that forced Antti Niemi into a good save.

Despite further chances for both teams, there was no more scoring before the break.

Boss Ebbe Skovdahl brought on Arild Stavrum for the second half with Darren Young remaining in the dressing room. David Rowson had the Dons first second half effort, when his shot crashed off the post with a little help from Niemi.

In the 63rd minute, it looked all over for the Dandies when Hearts doubled their advantage. Juanjo sent in a cross which Esson looked to have covered but SEVERIN nipped in in front of the Dons keeper to head into the empty net.

Aberdeen replaced McAllister with Mayer, a switch which resulted in Rowson moving to right back and McNaughton going to the left. Shortly afterwards, Derek Young had a great chance to pull a goal back, but his shot found the side netting when it looked easier to hit the target.

In the 78th minute Robbie Winters hit a shot wide, and two minutes later David Rowson had a brilliant header saved by ex-Ranger's keeper Niemi. Mackie came on for Derek Young.

With three minutes left on the clock, KIRK grabbed a well-deserved goal to emphasise the home team's superiority and complete the scoring.

Afterwards, a disappointed Ebbe Skovdahl said, "We got what we deserved from the game, absolutely nothing. We started well enough but then lost a silly goal. In fact, all three goals were caused by mistakes and we looked lacking in confidence. We must improve significantly before next Sunday when we face Rangers."
