Attendance: 0
Venue: Glebe Park, Brechin
An outstanding performance from Bertrand Bossu helped Aberdeen Reserves to a 1-0 victory over Falkirk at Glebe Park. Jamie Smith looks to be on the road to recovery as he played the first 45 minutes as planned, before being replaced by Nicky Clark at half time while youngsters Peter Pawlett and Ryan jack impressed throughout. The only goal came after 75 minutes. After fine play involving Clark and Paton, Jack made a strong run down the right and put in great cross which landed at the feet of Tommy Wright who finished well.
Falkirk dominated the final stages of the game cnci lay siege on the Aberdeen goal. Bossu had a stunning save to deny Falkirk an equaliser as a powerful shot driven from close range was heading into the bottom right corner but he somehow tipped the INA round the post. Falkirk threw all their bodies in to the box for the resulting corner. Aberdeen failed to get the ball clear and Bert was called upon to make another great save from close range to ensure the win.

Sandy Clark told RedTV, "It was a really good exercise. Despite the pitch being heavy and cuffing up, a lot of the guys needed games and both teams played really well. Jamie coming back is obviously a big boost to everyone at the club. He was always only going to play 45 minutes and that was certainly long enough on that pitch but he played well and I am sure he has taken a lot of confidence from the fact he is back now. Other guys around him played well, a lot of the young boys did well. It is good to have a mixture of experienced players beside young ones so the youngsters can get more out of it. Ryan Jack was exceptional at right back and Peter Pawlett also did very well playing wide left. Bert Bossu had two good saves at the end."
