Fleming Charity Shield
Aberdeen 1 - 0 Peterhead
Kick Off:    Wilson.
Attendance: 0
Venue: Pittodrie Stadium, Aberdeen
The Aberdeen first eleven met Peterhead at Pittodrie last night in the semi-final tie for the Fleming Charity Shield before a fairly large attendance of spectators. Mr. Gillespie, Aberdeen, lined the teams up as follows:-

Aberdeen: Herd; Boyle, Gault; Halkett, H. Low, W. Low; Hilton, Edgar, Wilson, O'Hagan, Lennie.
Peterhead: Pyper; Philip, Fenty; Smith, Davidson, Ross; W. Thomson, Simpson, Mitchell, J. Thomson, Cadger.

The first period of the game was decidedly uninteresting, this being mainly due to the fact that the Aberdeen men adopted an easy attitude towards the visitors, who in turn played the kick-and-rush game. Occasional good shots were sent in to Pyper, but the custodian served his side well, and at the interval the teams crossed over without the scoring having been opened.

The second half witnessed a slight improvement on both sides, several good tries being sent in from Halkett and Lennie, while about half-way through the period Wilson forced a passage through the Peterhead defence, and drove straight into the net. While the visitors continued their rushing tactics, the left wing had frequent good runs along the wing, but Herd's charge was seldom in danger.
