Benefit Match
Dundee 3 - 1 Aberdeen
    Charity Match
Kick Off:    Brown, Brown, Brown       Robertson.
Attendance: 0
Venue: Dens Park, Dundee
An inter-club match for the benefit of the child and sister of the late Lieutenant Hugh Mackenzie, V.C., D.C.M., of the Canadians (an Inverness man, who was brought up in Dundee), took place at Dens Park last night, before 7000 or 8000 spectators.

Dundee opened strongly, and in the first few minutes Brown, the home centre, had a find try, which Anderson was lucky in clearing at the expense of a corner. Archibald, the outside left, retaliated with a clever run, but Robertson's shot was smartly saved by Capper, the Dundee goalkeeper. During the first half Dundee had the better of the game, although Aberdeen were occasionally in Capper's vicinity, and many good openings were lost through the forwards shooting wildly. Brown scored for Dundee from a fine pass by Buchan. He shot high, and the ball just passed under the bar, giving Anderson little chance to save. Capper was conspicuous in a find save from a stiff drive by right, Aberdeen's right half, from a free kick.

On resuming at the interval, Aberdeen opened strongly, and Macdonald, the centre-forward, had hard lines in just failing to convert a clever run by Wilson, the inside right, and himself. Brown thereafter scored two goals for Dundee in quick succession, opening the way for himself on each occasion. A mis-kick by Thomson, the Dundee left back, gave Watson, the Aberdeen outside right, a splendid opening, but he sent weakly behind. At last Robertson found the net for the Wasps, and the game finished with Aberdeen still pressing strongly.
