ABERDEEN AND HIBERNIAN DRAW AT PITTODRIE.
At Pittodrie last night Aberdeen opposed Hibernian in Walter Grant's benefit match, the result being draw of two goals each. The field, was enveloped in fog, and on a cold night there were about 1500 spectators. The teams experimented with the 40 yards "no offside" area, but as the game was somewhat lacking in the competitive element, it was impossible form an accurate estimate of the benefits of the proposed change in the laws of the game would bring, although it was noticeable that there were fewer stoppages. Walker gave Hibernian the lead, but before the interval Smith equalised, and the teams were level at half-time. In the second half Shaw gave Hibs the lead with a terrific shot, but before the finish Alec Jackson put Aberdeen on equal terms as the result of a brilliant individual effort. He carried the ball a considerable distance and finished with a shot that left Harper helpless.
