Aberdeen Win Opening Match at Dundalk.
Aberdeen played the first match of their Free State tour yesterday, when they met Dundalk. They fielded their full First Division team, and so outclassed their opponents that they won by four goals to one.
Despite the inclement weather, a large crowd was present. Dundalk missed the services of Carroll, Agnew, and Reynolds.
Aberdeen played clever football, and during most of the first half the home players were on the defensive, as well as being bewildered to a great extent by the movements of the visiting forwards, particularly by the skilful touches of Cheyne, Yorston, and McDermid.

McDermid's Counter.

After ten minutes' play Rowles was well beaten by Love, from whose centre McDermid scored a brilliant goal.
Dundalk made strenuous efforts to equalise, but their forwards were weak, and their efforts did not materialise. Nearing the interval Yorston met a cross from Cheyne and scored.
In the second half Aberdeen again had the better of the exchanges. Mehaffy, the Dundalk goalkeeper, was kept busy, and after he had saved a couple of shots Yorston scored a third goal. Five minutes later Cheyne secured the best goal of the match. In the closing stages Lappin, taking advantage of a bad clearance by Yuill, rushed in and netted for the home team's only goal.
