Aberdeen's First League team, who are at present touring Ireland, decisively defeated Derry City in the first match of the tour. The game was a very enjoyable one, and the Dons were on top most of the time and led at half-time by four goals to nil.
The second half was more even and each side scored once, making the result 5-1. The weather was fine, and underground conditions were conducive to good football. The Derry team played quite well, but Aberdeen were the better-balanced side.
