ABERDEEN'S EXHIBITION AT WICK. Academy Give Fine Display in First Half.
Aberdeen put their customary score for this tour in playing Wick Academy last night, but their players and officials admitted that they had struck the stiffest hurdle of the tour. They were surprised at the strength of the northern amateurs, surprised at their speed and forcefulness, and more than one admitted that training in individual play and tackling was all the Academy required.

So far as the spectators were concerned, the game was very enjoyable. Aberdeen's exhibition of team work was a delight. The Dons, from the outset, although they did not get a real opportunity to settle down, always looked winners. They scored after eleven minutes through McLean, and ten minutes later Beattie added a second. W. Thomson came nearest to scoring for Wick and had the best try of the first half when he shot just over the bar from well out. The Aberdeen goalkeeper was penalised for carrying, and following the free kick Miller scored for the Academy.

Immediately on the resumption Wick attacked and Miller put narrowly past. Within a short time Aberdeen re-asserted their supremacy and Beattie scored his second goal. McLean netted the fourth off a corner, and then Beattie secured his hat-trick. Wick came into the picture to a slight degree and Oag centred to Miller, who scored. Fraser scored a sixth goal for Aberdeen shortly before the final whistle.
