Love Scores Twice Against Brideville.

Aberdeen scored a meritorious win over a Brideville select team, which contained the pick of the Free State league clubs, at Dublin yesterday.

While the game was sternly contested, the perfect understanding of Aberdeen, coupled with their speed and stamina, always conveyed the impression that they had the game in their grasp.
After six minutes play Lappin handled in the penalty area, but Mills drove the spot kick over the bar. A burst away by Meehan resulted in a corner kick, from which Merry headed past Smith.
This was the only goal of the first half, though Mills and Fraser should have given Aberdeen an interval lead.
It quickly became apparent that Aberdeen were out for victory, and after prolonged pressure Mills crossed the ball for Love to equalise with a great drive after sixteen minutes.
Two minutes later the same player waltzed through from the right to give Aberdeen the lead. Midway through this period Fraser, taking the ball on the run, took Foley by surprise to score Aberdeen's third.
Having gained commanding lead the Dons resorted to spectacular football, but Brideville became assertive, and in one of their spasmodic raids Brennan reduced the lead from a centre by Meehan.
