Foss Defies the Dons
THREE thousand spectators turned out to see Deveronvale and Aberdeen in Johnny Nimmo's benefit last night, were treated to ninety minutes of fast, thrilling football, in which Foss, the Deveronvale goalkeeper, gave the greatest display of goalkeeping seen at Banff for years. He defied all efforts by the Dons to score.

Most interest centred in Pearson the Aberdeen winger, but Taylor gave him little rope. Emmery was kept on the hop by mcBeath and Bolt, both of Inverness Caledonian, who were included in the Vale team along with Aird of Elgin City.
The Dons in the first half gave the impression of playing well within themselves, but went all out in the second period.
They found, however, that 'Vale were as full of running and Fraser, who played a dashing game at centre, had the ball in the net twice, but was ruled offside on both occasions.
The best 'Vale shot of the game came from McBeath, a fierce drive from twenty yards, which just managed to scrape round the post.
